Parky in Japan

Story By Matthew Stevens:

Hello! I met Parky when he visited us in Kyoto as he was scoping out locations for future WPC Congresses. I work for the Kyoto Convention Bureau and it is my job to support meetings like your and help make them a success. When Parky and the WPC team came to visit Kyoto, my colleague, Yuki Shinmei, and I took him to see one of Kyoto’s world heritage sites. When I met the representatives of the congress I was deeply moved by the wonderful vision of the organizers and the incredible dedication the congress has to the well-being of people with Parkinson’s and their families and the ultimate discovery of a cure. When I met Parky and the WPC team, it reminded me that in my job, I have the very special privilege of helping the people who are changing the world for the better, who are trying to cure diseases and make life better for everyone. We are glad that Parky came to scope us out as a future potential home for the congress, and regardless if we get the privileged of welcoming you here or not, I was grateful for the chance to be meet Parky!
